Episode 408 of The Athletic Scholarship Podcast is Part 2 of a 2 part interview with Scott McCowan.  Scott is a past college basketball and football player, a past college basketball coach and is presently the father of a college basketball player.  His daughter, Raegan, just finished her freshman year on the Western Illinios Lady Leathernecks basketball team.  WIU is a NCAA D1 and Ohio Valley Conference level team.  

Scott and I cover how Raegan and the family navigated her recruitment to Western Illinios, how they had parameters to help pick the right fit situation, you will get some recruiting advice from Scott and then we end with Raegan experience in the Transfer Portal.

Episode 407 is Part 1 of a 2 part interview with a friend and past competitor from our high school days.  Scott McCowan is now an insurance agent in Lebanon, Missouri, but also the father of a current women's NCAA Division 1 basketball player and he is a former NAIA level basketball and football player himself.  Scott also coached college basketball after he graduated from college.  In this 1st part of the interview, Scott and I cover his background in sports, his current job and his family.  We then get into his daughter, Raegan's, experience in her recruitment to Western Illinois University and her 1st year of playing basketball at the NCAA Division 1 level.  Listen and step into the McCowan family's shoes and learn about recruiting.
