Welcome back to the series of direct looks at the NCAA, NAIA & NJCAA websites. After the last 2 episodes broke from this series with a year in review episode and a re-introduction to Recruit-Me episode, today's episode is the 8th in the website series. Today we dive into the NLI or National Letter of Intent. The NCAA.org covers the optional, but binding National Letter of Intent. Because the NLI has requirement for athletic financial aid it is only functional for the NCAA Division I and II levels. The NCAA Division III offers a Celebratory Signing Form to allow Division III commits to have a non-binding option to sign at a signing ceremony. The NAIA division has a non-binding Letter of Intent and the JUCO level has a Letter of Intent or LOI that is binding at the NJCAA level, but not the NCAA or NAIA level.
All of this information comes straight from the NCAA.org, NAIA.org and the NJCAA.org websites. The purpose of this 'looks inside websites' series is to save you time, money and stress by taking you directly to specific topics on each website. These websites are great, free recruiting resources for you, but you can waste a lot time by not staying focused.
