This episode of The Athletic Scholarship Podcast is the 2nd in a series of inside looks into 3 free websites provided by the NCAA, NAIA and JUCO levels of college athletic play.  Last week's episode covered the Eligibility Centers on these websites and this week's episode covers the Academic Requirements to play at each level.

The Athletic Scholarship Podcast and Recruit-Me wants to provide as many free and inexpensive recruiting resources to you, the High School Student-Athlete and the families of those students.  The NCAA.org, the NAIA.org and the NJCAA.org websites are great free resources for recruiting, but you can get paralyzed by the amount of information on each of the websites.  This episode and this series of episodes will help you focus on a subject on recruiting to help you on your recruiting path.

Find out the standards, GPA and test scores, that each level requires for you to be eligible to play your freshman year of college in your sport.  Learn what the core-courses are that are required during high school and where to find this information easily.

In honor of the all-new Recruit-Me.com website, The Athletic Scholarship Podcast is offering the Recruit-Me 3.0 Athletic Scholarship System for only $89.  Take charge today.

Episode 326 is the 1st of a series of looks into highly informational and free recruiting resources.  The NCAA.org, NAIA.org and the NJCAA.org websites are filled with helpful information about each level of play in college, about college preparation and the college experience and recruiting rules, processes and advice.  Recruit-Me an The Athletic Scholarship Podcast could just send you to those websites, but there is so much information you might get paralyzed by all the information.  You might go looking for 1 thing and get off on a totally different subject.

Today's episode dials in on the Eligibility Center information on the NCAA.org, NAIA.org and NJCAA.org websites.  I will walk you through some of the links in each website to get to the targeted Eligibility Center information.

Listen for:

-the importance of your English education

-the relationship of the step by step process

-how making a decision to use a process is important

Episode 324 was inspired as I recently watched the Facing Nolan documentary on NetFlix.  The documentary was a 1 hour and 42 minute story about the Hall of Fame, Major League Baseball pitcher, Nolan Ryan.  Ryan first played for the New York Mets in 1966 and he played for 27 years for the Mets, the California Angels, the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers.  I remember collecting baseball cards and Nolan was a big star.  He was a hard-throwing, right-handed pitcher and it was said he threw his fastball 100+ miles per hour.  Nolan's legacy grew through the late 1970s and all through the 1980s.

The part of the story that really caught my eye was that Nolan Ryan struggled early in his pitching career.  He almost quit and through him listening to his wife, him listening and learning from new techniques with his Angel's pitching coach and his refound dedication and hard work.  Nolan had never failed and his situation, even though he is now a Hall of Famer, is very similiar to a high school or college student-athlete.

Listen in to see if you hear the similiarities.  Also, you will hear some past clips from interviews about the kind of work you need to put in.

Episode 323 was inspired by looking a Twitter one night and seeing a bunch of high school student-athletes post their committments and offers.  I was struck by the many different and obscure college names that were listed.  Colleges at all levels, JUCOs, NAIA, NCAA Division I, II & II schools.  Twitter & other social media sources can give you a name of college that you may want to put on your school list and to research.

Listen to this episode to get many more resources to gain colleges to your school list.  Compare them to your parameters list and do research to make a decision to pursue the schools further.  Recruit-Me and The Athletic Scholarship Podcast wants you to take charge of your recruiting journey and to contact colleges that fit your parameters.  Be aggressive on contacting schools and don't wait for a school to find you and then realize that it is not the right fit for you.

Welcome to The Athletic Scholarship Podcast, Episode 321.  Interviews give great, hands-on information and this interview is from a recently graduated Division III football player.  My nephew, Easton Hanks, attended, graduated and played football for Westminster College in Fulton, MO.  He played for the Blue Jays for 3 years and 21 games as a Defensive Back.  His second year was drastically reduced as the Jays played only 3 games because of COVID.  Easton not only battled COVID on the field, but in the classroom and he was successful in both.  Easton had 36 tackles, 13 assists, 4 interceptions and 11 pass breakups in the 21 games and he graduated with a Business Administration degree in just 4 years of college.  Easton attended Ozark Technical College(OTC) right out of HS and didn't play a sport and then transferred to Westminster College and took care of his business in the classroom.

Listen in to hear how Easton ended up at Westminster and what made his decide to play football again after high school.  Also, he tells about the competition at the DIII level and his advice on how to get ready to play college football and how to excel.

Welcome to Episode 313 of The Athletic Scholarship Podcast.  This week's episode takes a social media post by @coachkurzawski on Twitter.  This was a post I can across and it has a lot of truth to it and good advice.  As I read it, I started seeing many different angles to interpret the tweet.

Here is the tweet from @coachkurzawski:  Too many kids have been taught that the goal of HS sports is to achieve an ATHLETIC scholarship--here's the truth: the goal of HS sports is to learn to be a better person, better teammate, better communicator & to enjoy being a teenager...something you can't get back.

Here are 5 takes that relate to athletic recruiting I want you to have to help you in your recruiting journey.

Welcome to Episode 307 of The Athletic Scholarship Podcast. I  learned many lessons in 30 years in the car business.  My father owned a Chevrolet dealership in our small town of Ozark, MO.  I started working there when I was 15 years old, washing cars, cleaning the service shop and mowing.  I started to sell cars in the summers while I was attending, then, Southwest Missouri State.  I sold my 1st car when I was 18 years old.  One of the lessons I learned was at a meeting with others Chevrolet dealers from all over the country.  Listen to this episode to see how a dealer peer group meeting ended up giving you a lesson to help you in your recruiting journey.
